Glam Bag/ Ipsy Bag Review: January: Super Stars!

Hello Lovelies~

January is all about trying out new things. Making a new start. Making promises to yourself that you totally intend on keeping!....even if you only actually follow through on one of them.

This year, I promise to try new things, organize my room, Blog More, not let work take over my life, get a new job, loose 10 lbs. by March, and pay better attention to my budget. Luckily, this week I received something in the mail that allows me to fulfil two of the things on my 'Promises to Myself' list.

First! Pay attention to my Budget!

Some of ya'll know that last year I started receiving my 'Glam Bag', which is now called 'Ispy Bag', and it's $10 a month for a full bag of deluxe sized beauty products! I decided $120 a year is a good price to pay to keep my inner shopaholic in check.

By the time I've checked out all of the products and reviewed them in one way or other, it's the next month and a new bag is being sent out. For anyone who loves quality makeup and beauty products while not breaking the bank, Check out Ipsy.com.

So, Let's see what I got this month in my bag!

This is the Eye liner brush from SOHO with the Ergonomic dips, which I'm not a fan of, but the brush is so soft and really is a good brush.

  Its $7.99 regularly.

Big Sexy Hair Hair Spray 1.5 ounces. I am not one for hair spray, it tends to make my curls sticky and fall down anyways, but I am going to give this a try the next time I do a Hime up do.

 Regularly $12.99 for this size.

Argan Oil is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, grown organically in Morocco. Argan Oil can be used for many areas including hydrating and nourishing skin as a daily moisturizer, skin treatment, treating spilt ends, and softening cuticles.  It's said to be gentle enough to use on all skin types and is known to help with skin conditions including acne, eczema and rosacea. I am using it to fade a few scares I have on my hands.

 This size is normally $14.

I don't usually wear red and I was really hoping for the soft cream color, but there will be more on this at the bottom of the post.

Regularly $13.

This is my favorite product this month. I absolutely love the smell and it's made my hands so soft, even with as much as I wash hands, they haven't dried out yet!

Blood Orange, a small touch of raspberries and strawberries, Italian Sweet Oranges, and Mandarin Oranges. This Body Butter practically transports my to my favorite deserted Mediterranean beach, lush and full bodied....it's perfect.

Anyone who likes oranges, I would recommend this to you.

Buy It Here!

$7

All in a cute Make up bag. Ok...so let's add it all up!

  $ 7.99
  $12.99
  $14.00
  $13.00
+$ 7.00
---------
$54.98

All of that for $10, I this that's Fabulous!

So, I said this post would cover two things, well, it will also cover, 'Try New Things'. If you read up top I mentioned Red really isn't my color. But I must say...this red isn't terrible.

It isn't something I'll wear all the time, but it'll be a nice color for Valentines day. ^_^ It does chip easily though, so make sure you use a base coat and top coat when using this nail polish and remember, Apply Responsibly. (Nailtini's slogan)

 Thanks for reading!!

My August Glam Bag!

Hello Lovelies~

Beauty bags are all the rage all over the world, but here in America.....they are a bit...young. These wonderful inexpensive treats are packed full of trial, deluxe trial, and sample sized beauty products. As far as I know, there are three official Beauty Bags being sold here in the US.

One is sold by Allure Magazine. I do not receive that monthly bag, but I want to. Birch Box is another option if you like more indie type brands. But I subscribe to Glam Bag.

For ten dollars a month I receive a cute make up bag, a few fliers describing the products filling the bag, and the wonderful products.

Here is a picture of the full bag.

And in side I found ....

 'Ringmaster' by Andrea's Choice.

My Glam Lip gloss called 'Glam Girl'. This was an extra gift and while the shade isn't totally me, I love the gloss itself.

The shade is a bright sharp pink color and it smells like watermelons! I was so surprised with that. It doesn't taste like watermelons, but it's not Smuckers, so one can't expect to much. ^_~*

The bottle is beautiful!

And don't you just love the color?

This is a mildly sticky gloss, but it lasts a long time and resists that icky clumpy feeling after hours of wear. So I guess you have to take the good with the bad sometimes.

I got a vial of roll on perfume in Dragon Fruit. It smells so good!

And last but not least I received a custom blended eyeshadow color from S.A.L.T.Y cosmetics. It's called GLAM-a-zoid and at first I though it was a white or really light blue, but upon further inspection I found it was a light light pink that turns mildly violet when applied!

The lighting wasn't the best for this picture, but as you can see it's light violet and shimmery. I'll have more pictures of this color coming soon.

Lastly I received an Anti ageing serum and a night restorative that goes with it. I will not be trying out these products, but my mother has offered to test them for me and she was excited to see them, so it all works out.

I am VERY pleased with this months bag and I am really looking forward to September's Glam Bag.

Product Review: Circus: Andrea's Choice (Part 2)

Hello Lovelies~

I got my Glam Bag this month and I was so happy with it! I even got another bottle of Andrea's Choice nail polish. This one is called 'Ringmaster'.

This is a wonderful color. It's bright and cheerful and wearing it lifts my spirits. My favorite part about this polish is that it dries super fast! A manicure takes less than 10 mins. and it's done.

Sadly, this polish is still not available for purchase yet, but it will be in September.

I did not use a top coat on this manicure, but I recommend it.

Shipping: ?-5 : N/A This product is not available yet, but when it is, I will tell you right away.

Price: ?-5 N/A I got this in a beauty bag, so I didn't pay the correct price for it.

Quality: 4-5 : This was less streaky than the white polish. It dries fast and it looks great with just one coat.

Product Review: Circus: by Andrea's Choice

Hello Lovelies~

I recently signed up for a monthly mystery beauty bag and what I haven't been thrilled with the items this far, there was one that stood out this month.

I receive a nail polish by Andera's Choice called 'Reverso', from the Circus collection.

I had to review this polish because it's hard to find a good white polish, but this particular polish is 100% vegan and cruelty free! It's really hard to find products like that that are comparable to commercial products we know to be tried and true.

And get a load of the packaging!!!

How cool is that? The colors are great and you just pop the top and inside is the polish. You could keep the polish in the tube, or you could find another use for it. I turned mine into a holder for my eyeshadow brushes.

The color I received is 'Reverso'.

I was both pleased and disappointed in the color. It has its it's pros and cons. Do you remember when you were first starting to paint you nails when you were...say....5 or 6 and thought painting White Out on your nails made you all grown up?...>.>.....I can't have been the only one to do that.....o.o....Anyways. This reminds me of that. It smells like White Out and is just as thick, the first coat is a bit streaky and the polish gets tacky, but it dries VERY fast. By the time i was done with my second hand, my first hand was done and ready for a second coat.

The second coat smoothed everything out, as second coats tend to do, and I was pleased with the final product.

Below is a picture of my nails after the first coat.

Now, I'm not one for pure white nails, it's just not my color, But! Another great point for this color is that it's a great base color for sheer colors!

Above is a picture of my nails with a light coat of O.P.I's 'Princesses Rule' painted on top of the 'Reverso'.

I really liked how that turned out, but I didn't stop there.  I am working on a new nail technique that lightly outlines the nail in another color. I haven't got it down yet, but here is my second attempt.

Over all I think this manicure took....22 mins. I did my nails and only waited 5 mins for the extra polishes to dry, then went right to bed and nothing smudged or smeared at all.

OK! So, Here is the break down.... Out of 5.

Shipping: ?-5 N/A I received this polish from a mystery bag, so I didn't actually have to pay shipping.

Price: ?-5 N/A. This collection won't be available until Fall 2012, but the moment i find out the price, I'll let you know.

Quality: 4-5 For a vegan product, I really liked it. It had a good consistency and dried fast. I was very impressed with this polish and will be getting the other colors when I can.

RESULTS: This is a yes and a must for girls who like sheer colors can can't find a good base color.

Happy Bunny Day Everyone!!!

Hello Lovelies~

Was the Easter Bunny good to you? Did you dress up and go to church, or are you the stay at home and cook type? Me? I'm the stay at home and cook type ^_^

I am usually dressed up and active, so today I decided to lounge in cute pajamas and make chicken-y goodness with my mom. We dyed eggs and will paint out nails, probably do a facial mask later on and experiment with new hair styles while watching bad for me reality t.v. .

So, onto what the Easter Bunny brought me! I must have been a good girl this year, because I got some awesome stuff.

This year, my mom and I decided not to do actual baskets. I mean, once Easter is over, what do you do with them? You put them away for the next year, right? But you never reuse them. You just buy new ones. So this year we got cute boxes that we can use later.

o.o....who is this? This is Vanilla Cream! I love lambs, I have since I was very little. So seeing her perched upon the t.v. was so awesome!!!!

Candy! What Easter is complete without it?

I have never tried the vinyl full nail decals. So I am excited to tried these out. ^_^

New nail colors. Red, gold, and Rose Gold Shimmer.

And finally! Isn't it pretty? I have been playing with purple lipstick lately. This is Covergirl's 'Embrace', number 335.

It's a beautiful color. I am really hoping it doesn't turn out to mauve on my lips.

This is my 'Easter Basket'. Isn't it pretty? It'll look lovely in my room.

 I hope ya'll have a great Easter!

Outfit Post! 3-15-12

Hello Lovelies~

Because I have felt SO much better this last week while attending my Dealer's classes than I have in the last few months of going to my other job, I have started trying to take more pictures of the outfits I'm wearing. Todays' outfit was a tribute to summer ^_^

I am wearing a simple white peter pan collared shirt under my Metamorphose 'Marine Border Shirring' JSK. I twisted my hair up with a clip in the back and added three large rose hair pins I made myself. The final touch to the outfit are my nails.

I used an O.P.I. color called 'Aphroditie's Pink Nightie' that I borrowed from a friend and added a simple like of glitter across each nail. I love how it turned out. Each fingernail looks like it has a row of sparkly diamond necklaces on it!

Another spa night at home ^_^

Hello Lovelies~

Today was another hard day at work, but it was also the last day of our President's Day sale and so everyone and their mother was in trying to scoop up as many great deals as they could. Mad houses would be calmer...I swear it! Lol ^_^ So tonight I am doing another relaxing at home spa night.

This time I am useing 'Freeman's Beautiful Avacado and Oatmeal Facial Clay'....

I have never used this mask before, so it's a fun new experience ^_^ The clay is a light green, almost Mint green in color, to be honest, I was expecting something a little darker in color, not that the color really matters. I had to laugh a bit when I realized I was wearing light pink pajama bottoms that were covered in roses, a light blue tank top, multi colored pastel yarn bows and had a light mint green mask covering my face. I feel all kinds of colorful tonight!

More on the results of my mask later, but for now we'll move on to the next step in my spa night. My nails! What spa night is complete without it? This is half for fun and half for nasesity. I broke two nails while at work ~_~!

This is an old picture, but it is the color I painted my nails tonight and just didn;t feel like taking a new picture of it. ^^;

The color is O.P.I.'s 'Warm and Fozzie' from the release of 'The Muppets'. It was the only color I was able to get from the collection and it makes me a bit sad, but I love it to death and have already used half the bottle. It looks great on me and I say that in full knowledge of the fact that normally I wear browns a bit akwardly.

Here is a swatch of the color I did a few months back. Look how it practically glows bronze! I love it so much!!!

Ok, So I just washed off my facial and my skin is all tingly. But after an hour my skin is still soft and smooth. The oatmeal calmed the redness in my skin and some of the small bumps I was worrying over were soothed away.

I really enjoy a good spa night. next on my agenda.... >.>.....a wonderful pedicure!!!!

Just a relaxing holiday at home....

Hello Lovelies~

Today is Valentines day and sadly, I happen to be spending it without a romantic partner. I thought about blogging about making home made sweets, but every attempt I made didn't turn out right in some way or other. The chocolate cracked and flaked apart, the jellies never firmed up, and my marshmallows oozed....>.>.... Lol! I am usually very good at making sweets, but desert making is all about emotions. So to save my kitchen from another iced chocolate issue, I decided to make tonight all about loving myself. That's right dearest readers, that means a Spa Night!

Facial masks, Nails, Soft music, and  all the Action movies I can handle! Who doesn't love a great action movie were the hero may or may not get the girl in the end, depending on what movie you decided to watch. I happened to watch Die Hard, The A-Team, and Speed after I watched a show called 'Friends With Benifits'. Can I just say.....O_O. There are no other words for that movie. It wasn't bad, but oh my lord......

 Any ways!

If you have never used a facial mask, it does wonders for the skin. I use various different masks...Avocado and Oatmeal. Lemon and Mint. And a Dead Sea Salt one that is Blue! But today I went for luxurious and used the 'Freeman: Feeling Beautiful Chocolate and Strawberry Clay Mask'. I usually don't like the smell of chocolate unless it's edible....it always smells....dark and artificial. But this mask is wonderful. It looks and feels like a thick milk chocolate and after you've let it dry and rinsed it off, it leaves your skin so smooth and soft!

A single use package is available at your local Walmart for $1.37, but a full bottle, which is 7oz., is no more than $4-$9 dollars at your local drugstore, or can be found online.

While I wanted for the mask to dry, I painted my nails. I went with something bold and bright to really highlight the lighter pink hearts I painted on it later. The color I went it is 'Pure Ice: Wet T-Shirt'.

It's a new color that has a great finish, even without a topcoat, and has a great glitter effect without being to over powering. Pure Ice is a great 'pick -me -up' on a bad day as it only costs $2 at Walmart. For the best result, I did three coats, but it looked great after two, so it's your choice really.

I didn't do anything super special with my hair, but put it up into braided pigtails and added some fine glitter to add a bit of sparkle.

I did happen to get a few gifts in the mail today~! I was so excited to wake up and discover fun treats. First, I opened the package from a very close friend. She sent me various stationary, all natured themed!

My favorite ones are the gold embossed bird cards. The colors are soothing and very elegant ^_^

Next I finally received a treat I found on Etsy. The moment I saw them, I knew I couldn't not have them, so it was money well spent!!!

Ok....the package it came in....

The back of the package it came in.....Ready for the actual treat??

                                                             Tah Dah!!!!!!

Sherlock and Watson key chains!!! They are so very very cute! >.>....Oh dear, is my outer geek being flashy again? Oh well ^_^ For Sherlock, I will always be a fangirl.

So to end my Valentine's Day, I grabbed my closest best friend and gave her a hug. Her name is Dani and she is my mom. The person who loves me for me and doesn't try to change me to much. With out her I wouldn't know what real love is. So to her I wish her all the love in the world.

I hope your valentine's day was as good as mine ^_^

All the Small Things...

Hello Lovelies~

Seems like a lot has happened to me over the last few weeks, and yet, in the same time, it's like nothing of monumental importance has occurred. But isn't that with life is? A series of small joys all clustered together to make a full and exciting life.

So! Where should I start?.....How about with the newest acquisitions to my room?

The other day I was at Walmart and saw the most beautiful black and white pictures that I just had to have. At the time of my not quite impulse buy, I wondered what I was going to do with them. I'll be the first to admit that these pictures don't fit in with the Rococo theme I'm going for in my room, but I knew I couldn't pass them up.

I took them home, put one of them up and found I didn't have another free nail to hand the second, so while it's not hung, it's still displayed.

 Want to see the pictures???

Ta da!!! Two of the most beautiful women in all of history. Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. If I could find a picture of Elizabeth Taylor, I'd be completely content.

International Lolita Day, the winter version, just passed and while I stayed in most of the day and watched Doctor Who all day, I did go out and get new slippers. They are super cute and they support breast cancer awareness.

See the ribbons on the side? I plan to remove those and reposition them on a more cute design. ... But that's another post....

And for my final joy of the week, as I told a friend just the other day, I have been obsessed with nail polish lately. My favorite color of my latest purchaces, is 'Warm and Fozzie' by OPI.

OPI released several colors for 'The Muppet Movie', which was a great movie by the way and if you haven't seen it yet, you should. From 'Pepe's Purple Passion' to 'Excuse e' Moi' all of the colors were wonderful. Sadly they are limited edition and 'Warm and Fozzie' was the only color the shop I was in had left.

It's a beautiful gold chocolate tan color with deep inset shimmer. It takes two to three coats to get it looking on the nails like it does in the bottle.

This is after three regular coats. not to light, not to thick.

So, that is my past week in a nut shell! Hope you enjoied it and I hope to hear from you soon ^_^ Look forward to my up coming posts where I show off my newly designed slippers ^_~
