New Headdresses!!!

Hello Lovelies~

The other day I was so excited to wake up and find this on my front porch...

The cute stickers were not part of the package, they are just there so no one can see all of my adress and stalk me.

I was so excited, I opened it as quick as the packing tape would allow me and this is what I received!

The first is a Pink cherry head round with pearls and rhinstones! The first time I saw this accessory was on the Metamorphose website last year or so and I liked it, but never ever thought about getting it. I've never thought of pink as my color and to be honest, I actually got this to give away at my upcoming tea party, but the moment I set eyes on it, I fell in love. Completely and utterly in love. I've even found a great fabric to make a matching skirt ^_^

This read round has a comb on the back to hold it in place which is a great feature!

and a picture of it worn....

The next tiem I pulled out of the package was this wonderful headdress.

This must have been a release I missed, because I've never seen it on the site before, but Meta created something simple and beautiful with this headdress. The bows on either side are removeable...

If you look close, you can see that the eyelet that runs down the middle of the headdress has hearts on it. It's so cute! So very very cute! I like them both, but honestly....I like the head round more ^_^

I am so excited to go to Nebraskon with new accessories! I even have something to give away at my party.

Thank you to the seller of these wonderful items. They well have a good home with me.

Metamorphose Spotlight!

Hello Lovelies~

Recently, I became the Meta Brand Ambassador for the EGL weekly e-zine, The Petticoat Press. It's a fun job in which I get to stalk the Metamorphose site and tell everyone when they update, which is something I already did anyways, now my stalker tendencies have a rhyme and reason ^_^

This week Meta has released some really cute peices. They released consept sketched for knew cardigans and a cloak with bear ears which I find adorable and want so bad! But what has caught my attention this week is the two new dresses they sprung on their devoted fans with out sneak peeks or anything and for Meta, that's odd. But after seeingthe dresses....I now know why they didn't warn us.

Introducing the : Gobelins Print Velour Frill Pinafore Dress

This is the first of two dresses released yeasterday. It has a lovely print over velour ruffles with an underbust bodis the hooks up the middle from what I can tell.

I am pretty sure this dress would look better being worn than it does on the dressform. It needs a full Cord to make it less of a focal point.

Introducing the : Gobelins Print Ribbon Pinafore Dress
I like this dress more than the dress above. The chocolate brown velour is more limited and the print is the star this time. ...Or is would be if not for the bodis of the dress. This is a convertable dress you see. The breast peices are romoveable and it can become an Underbust gown.

I like the dress either way, but the removable breast peices threw me for awhile. But the more I look and talk about it, the more I like this dress.

Metamorphose may be odd, but that's why I like them and while I don't always like what they comeup with, I really like the underbust dress.

Nebraskon prep and cute hair accessories

Hello Lovelies~

As some of you may know, November brings with it a convention close to my heart, a convention I've been attending for more years than I care to mention and at this convention, amongst the panels I run, the tea party I plan and hostess, and all of the people I socialize with, I also run an Artist table where I sell my art and for the past few years, have sold Lolita accessories.

On the menu for this year is two Mini Top Hats, a few Headdresses, a Gothic Madonna Veil, and puffy hair bows!!! (And some Deco items, but that's not what I'm making tonight ^_^)

I have had a lot of misfires with these puffy hair bows. You wouldn't think they would be that difficult!!!

I finally made one I actually like and thought I'd show it off while I slave over more and hope they all come out this cute...u.u;

Here is the bow on it's own....

And here it is worn....(Please excuse the lack of actual hair style. I hadn't expected to be taking pictures tonight, thus you don't actually get to see my face >.>....)

So. One down! Many more to go! I am having fun though, so that's all that matters.

Hello Lovelies~

Halloween is coming up in a few weeks and I while I know a lot of bloggers will be posting about great costumes for Lolitas that still want to wear their frills on the night of ghouls and ghosts. But I wanted to talk about a more taboo subject that lots of people dance around, even when it's not Halloween.

Cosplay with Lolita!

O.O.....What? Yes! Think about it! Halloween is really the only time that Cosplay and Lolita can be merged! have you thought about a Mario Lolita cosplay and not wanted to tell anyone because of the strong stipulations that Lolita is not Cosplay? This is the night to do it. The one night a year where all of your Striped socks and Minnie Mouse Lolita wishes will be over looked and embraced as epic!

Go crazy, get it out of your system. Have fun!

Now the flip side of this is when girls do this and put a lot of work into their outfits, they then want to wear them to conventions and show off their awesome work and while the general population of the convention will accept it and take pictures, these outfits are generally avoided by traditional Lolita that are very strong believers of the iron clad, unshakable rule that Lolita is NOT cosplay.

Being avoided and shunned hurts, no one likes it, but Halloween is for the Lolita that loves Cosplay and longs to merge the two.

So do it! Merge and blend, then put it away for next year.

Halloween is your time Cosplay Lolita! Show your colors, be creative, this one day of the year, you will be fully accepted.

What are you planning on being for Halloween? I am going for a cute Bee Lolita look ^_^

Estee Lauder Review: Intensive Smoothing Hand Creme

Hello Lovelies~

I'm back again with another review and let me just say, Estee Lauder has hypnotic soul catching abilities and after one try, I can't get enough of their hand creme!

The small hand creme is $45 and for that price you get 3.4 fl.oz. of the thickest most lucsurious hand lotion I had ever had the pleasure of smoothing over my hands.

When I first looked at this creme, I was a little put off by the fact that it was for not only deep hydration, but for age spot prevention. I'm only 25! What do I need with age spot prevention? But the more I shopped around and tried other products, I kept coming back to this wonderful lotion.

Winter is coming up and I get really dry skin in the colder months. The more I thought about what I liked about this hand lotion, the more I liked the fact that it's velvety smooth and thick like body butter with no greasy resedue. It soaks right into the skin and after two weeks it has actually smoothed my hands and I have been told how amazingly soft my hands are more in the last month than in my entire life.

If you are tired of putting on product after product and not seeing the results promised with drier and drier hands as a result, this will be the last product you'll ever need. You'll use half the amount and see better results in half the time.

Results: I would buy this product again. I am in love with it!

Green is not always a good color....

Hello Lovelies~

Do you have a sin you associate with? Are you greedy? Do you indulge in that extra slice of cake? Is putting things of for another day an art form for you? Maybe you have a quick temper....

It happens. No one is perfect. Sometimes I think I should've been born with green eyes rather than blue. My sin would have to be Envy.

It's not a pretty sin to admit to. I don't always long for what everyone else has. To be honest I am usually happy with what I have in my life, but from time to time my green eyed monster flares up and I want to throw fits and kick and scream and be completely bratty until I get what I want.

What?? That's not good! You should be proper and sweet all the time! .....Who says? I'm human just like anyone else and I'm not to proud to admit that I am very jealousy and envious of a friend of mine that is going on the BTSSB/AatP trip next week.

But my envy burns bright and then is gone. I think my inner monster has the sin of sloth, because once I'm done being jealousy I'm over it. I don't hold on to those dark feelings.

I hope my good friend has a great time in Japan. She is planning on taking tons of pictures and shopping and knowing that she is going to go and have such a great time make me want to work even harder to save my money and go to Japan myself.

I don't look good with green eyes. I much prefer my natural blue color which is as calm and deep as the ocean.

It's alright to indulge your sins. Eat that extra piece of cake if you want, just cut it in half and know that to much is to much but a little extra is just fine ^_~ Have a lazy day, then get up the next day and do something productive like laundry or sweeping. Be angry, then let the anger go! Don't let you inner monsters control you or take over for to long.

Good News and Bad News...

Hello Lovelies~

For the last six months I have been trying to find a way to reply to your comments in such a way that you would actually be alerted to the fact that I had replied, so last night I tackled the problem with the help of three people, one of whom was the most help and actually solved the problem ^_^

So for the Good News~

I have istalled Disqus and can now reply to your comments! It is a bit glitch-y but I am going to give it a month. Give it a fair run.

Now the Bad News~

Upon installing Disqus all or your wonderful comments were lost and will not import.

So I want to take this moment to thank everyone that has commented on any post. I read all of them and they all warm my heart and make me smile. Thank you for reading and shareing your thoughts with me.

Sunglasses Deco Project

Hello Lovlies~

I have been big into Deco lately. After I did my phone a few weeks ago my mother loved it so much that she insisted I do her sunglasses as well. So I pulled out my box of tricks and got to work.

These are what I started with and this.....

Is what I ended with ^_^

I used all purple rhinstones of various sizes and after two weeks of bumpping around my mom's purse, all of the stones ar still in place! I am so pleased with the Alleen's tacky glue.

Who Says Blondes have more fun?

Hello Lovelies~

It's fall! It's cold! and it's time for a full hair color change!

For the past month, I have been playing with colors and trying things out, trying to get just the right hair color for me and I finally chose one! Amber Blonde.

That's right. Amber Blonde. A blonde shade with just enough red to give my hair a warm glow. Like dark honey. So I set out to my colorist, Maureen, and we talked about it and between the two of us, we confused one another. It was actually very funny. But I finally tossed my hands up in the air, closed my eyes and said, 'I trust you', which are three words I don't say to to many people when I'm talking about my hair.

She disappeared for a few moments, then returned with the colors mixed and the process started.

Half way through the saturation time, I happened to catch a look at the color and goodness it looked dark and really RED! Which isn't what I wanted at all, but I had said that I trusted her to make my dreams come true it terms of color, so I didn't freak and waited the rest of the hour until we rinsed, conditioned, and dried my hair.

At the big reveal I was almost worried, but everyone in the Salon said I looked amazing so I closed my eyes once more and turned around.

I almost didn't recognize myself. My hair was not the Amber Blonde I wanted, but I love the color it is. It looks like fire in person. It is a vivid Irish red with twists of gold and hints of orange. It gets darker near the tips of my curls and looks almost Auburn.

It may not be what I wanted, It it's exactly what I needed. I feel beautiful and strong and isn't that what I wanted to achieve when I colored my hair?

If you ever need a colorist, go see Maureen at Salon Hall on 49th and Dodge in Omaha, NE and tell her Kat sent you. She doesn't care how long you hair is. She has very fair prices.

 Now to the pictures!!!

These pictures are courtesy of my good friend Den and her wonderful camera phone.
