Hello Lovelies~
Today I awoke to discover a beautiful day! Sunshine, trees rustling, a bird chirping...or what I assume was chirping as I couldn't actually hear it, only see it open and close it's beak occasionally... A perfectly nice day right? Wrong! Oh how wrong I was!
I went outside to discover my beautiful warm day was bitterly cold and the wind was only making it worse! I really wanted to cry when I realized summer was truly gone and Fall seems to be passing right by to give away to ol' Jack Frost. He'll be nipping at our Petticoats faster than one might think, so it's time to morn the loss of our thin cotton jummpers that we were happily wearing without shirts and four underskirts and start pulling out the layers.
As Lolitas, we don't really mind wearing more clothes, it's a pretty accepted fact, but maybe this year you're looking at the Over The Top stylings of last year and longing for a change, well ladies and gents, this is the time!
This is the time to sell, trade, beg, barrow, and prepare for a new winter. I know I'm going for a Classic Hime feel this year. Corduroy Dresses, Velvet Skirts, Heavy Wool Coats, and Tights are in my future, but maybe that's not for you...
Are you going Gothic? Maybe a good starting point would be a black hooded cape with fur edging. Or a good pair of sturdy boots. Going Sweet? Earmuffs with bunny ears are always cute. How about a simple Classic style for holiday gatherings with family. For this I recommend A-lines and wool along with Velvet accessories and rose motifs.
But no matter what look you're going for this year, Remember to have fun with it and that you don't have to get rid of everything in your closet. A lot of pieces transition from style to style.
Look on the Live Journal EGL Sales Community for good deals and don't forget that it's never to early to pick up that certain Dream Dress for next spring ^_~

It's to short!!!!!! Now what?
When making your own clothes, my dear readers, the rule is 'Measure twice, Cut once.'. An easy enough rule to follow and please never forget to give yourself an extra inch or two for the 'oops' moments in life we all tend to have.
But when you've finished you new skirt or dress and come to realize that those two extra inches disappeared and your 21in. skirt is now 19in., what do you do?
Seeing as you might be able to tell this just happened to me, I'd discovered a few helpful ways to handle this problem and I'm going to share them with you.
Solution 1: Sew long lace or a longer ruffle around the bottom of the hem.
With this, the skirt gets a cute flounce and you get back those inched you accidentally misplaced.
Solution 2: Wear long bloomers underneath your skirts and petticoats.
With this option, your knees are covered and you get to show off a piece of you wardrobe that isn't often seen by others that aren't you. This solution has a rule to it though.
If your skirt is shorter than four inches, do not attempt the long bloomers. After four inches is looks silly and you should just proceed to the next option.
Solution 3: Rock it like you mean it!
This is exactly what it says, rock the short lolita skirt. In the last two years, Brands like Metamorphose and Innocent World have been releasing two or, in Innocent World's case, three different lengths to their skirts, one of which is a 'mini' length, though you won't see this in IW as often as you will in Meta or even Angelic Pretty.
The 'mini' length is usually two or three, sometimes four, inches above the knee and they are made to show off the lower strip of thigh before the socks start.
I hope these tips help you though the 'oops' and 'well hell's we all deal with when it comes to fashioning our own clothes. Good Luck!

Personal thoughts and words to think on....
Hello My Lovelies~
No, I have not forgotten about you, but I have forgotten myself lately. In the heat of summer I grew lazy and practically lived in my Pajamas. I kid you not. I watched a lot of T.V. and experienced life through my mouth as I tend to do from time to time. I lost twenty pounds, gained five back, started renovating my room, turned another year older, and found myself loving life all over again.
To be honest, I am in pain more often than not. My body hurts when I breath to deep or over exert myself. And through the summer I realized that I was letting this pain take away what I loved. Which is Food, Fashion, Fun, everything.
So Today I got up, dressed up in one of my best Lolita outfits, and went to a Spooky party being thrown by a friend of mine to kick off the Haunted House Season.
I will once again be playing around in a doll room at a local haunted house and am so excited.
To anyone who reads this. Please, read these words and hold them close. Remember them as you surf away from this blog and read other, more inspiring words from other, more influential Lolitas.
'Keep Doing What You Love.'
It's not original, or very eloquent, I know, but it's the truest truth I know. If we stop doing what we love...if we just give into the pain, give into the ridicule, the harsh remarks, if we just stop and let it fade, then we've lost...
Lost ourselves, lost the war for individuality, or...I don't even know how to finish that thought, but I hope you understand what I've tried to convey to you.
I am not giving up. I'm fighting. I will keep hold of what I love and hold it tight. This pain will leave me one day, and on that day, I don't want to say, 'Now my life can start again.', I want to be able to say that my life will continue on as planned...or unplanned as that's how I live my life.
