Crafting on the last day of National Craft Month

Hello Lovelies~

How long has it been? Two weeks or so? Crazy! I'll endeavor not to disappear for so long again. I'll admit I've been lazy and there is no excuse for not updating regularly. I did happen to make a new dress for summer though, which I will have to show ya'll when I get pictures.

Did any of you know that March is National Craft Month? If you did, good for you ^_^ and if you didn't, join the club! I was shocked and as it's the last day of March, I wanted to do something to celebrate. I pulled out everything I could find and I ended up having a lot of stuff to craft with, but the I realized I had nothing to craft....the realization made me sad, so to cheer myself up, I heated water for hot coco. Little did I know this act would give me just what I needed.

With the water boiling and my favorite mug ready to be filled with chocolaty goodness, I pulled out my large tube of Swiss Miss, to find there was hardly anything in there!!!!! Who does that?! But while I stared at the empty container and ranted unhappily, I had a brilliant idea!

I quickly rinsed out the powder covered tube and dried it, before sawing it in half and rushing out to plug in my hot glue!

A dash of Velvet, a Swish of Pearls, and a whole lot of Hot Glue later, This is what was born!

I haven't decided what to do with it yet, but the moment I figure it out, I'll be posting a DIY for ya'll to let you know how to make your own...whatever I made ^_^

Tsunami Tragedy

Hello Lovelies~

I was planning an artical on purses, but that seems alittle frivilos right now. So before we get back to our regularly scheduled Fashion and Lifestyle blog, I'd like to take a moment to address another topic.

For those of you who haven't heard, on March 11th, a devastating 8.8 Earthquake rock Japan and triggered a Tsunami. Hundreds dead, Many more missing, and more damage than one can imagine.

There are lots of relief efforts going on right now, so please, donate if you can, or if you can't, please keep the survivors in your thoughts and prayers.

The American Red Cross is accepting donations though text message. Text "redcross" to 90999, and you can make a $10 donation to the organization.

Trying new things

Hello Lovlies~

Earlier this week a friend called and wanted to take pictures in graveyards. So I I said I'd be ready in 10 and scurried off to get dressed. Then it occurred to me...what does one wear to take pictures in a graveyard? I didn't think my light blue cupcake dress would cut it or be the most appropriate.

10 minuets and most of my closet strewn all over my bed, I saw a glimmer of hope! Well, actually it was a glimmer of light off of a black velvet skirt I've had for so long I don't remember where I got it anymore, and that's when I came up with a plan.

 Long black velvet skirt? Check
White long sleeved collared shirt? Check
 Black vest? Check
 Black granny boots? Check
Black and gold veil? Check

This was the final result....

That's right! I went Elegant Gothic Aristocratic!!!

I've never worn the EGA style before, it was defiantly something different. I had a ton of fun and while I might not wear this style everyday, it will certainly be added to my mental filing cabinet as a possible Coordinate for future wear.

Have you tried any new styles in this new year? Tell me about them!

Added Bonus!!!! Here are a few more pictures from the shoot.
