Yummy Treats! Cheesy Steak Sweet Potato Fries! Pictures + Recipe!

Hello Lovelies~

I have been in a really munchie mood lately and the thing I've been craving the most is Outback Steakhouse's Bacon Cheese Fries! But....sadly, I'm broke. So paying $8 for fries is out of the question. But It's a pretty basic recipe consisting of fries, cheese, bacon, and ranch to dip them in. So it was off to the kitchen!

Upon entry I discovered no potatoes and no bacon, I was SO sad and thought I might have to change my plans.

But Lucky Me!!!! I found a bag of sweet potato fries in the freezer and a steak! So here is how to make my yummy Cheesy Sweet Potato Steak Fries!

Step 1~ Fry your fries

Step 2~ Let cool as you cook your steak, flavor as you will but to get my taste cook with a drizzle of steak sauce, a splash of hot sauce, and a sprinkle of red wine. Salt and Pepper to taste.

Step 3~ Cover fries with shredded Cheddar and microwave for 1 minute.

Step 4~ Top with steak and eat! (Ranch to dip if wanted)

This took less than 30 mins to make and cost less than $8! (The steak was on sale for $2.32 and the fries were on sale as well, but I can't remember the exact price. But you can use an actual Sweet Potato as well to keep the cost down.)

It was so delicious!

Have ya'll done anything creative in the kitchen lately? I'd love to hear about it! Or see it!

DIY 3 Ingredient face mask useing Bananas! (For Sensetive and Dry Skin)

Hello Lovelies~

Tonight I'm hanging out in a quite house surrounded by three very loving cuddly dogs and it's just a relaxing night. So I thought, why not a Spa night?

I looked around Pinterest and found a few DIY masks that I had the ingredients to mix up and settled on a Banana mask that seemed the best option for my skin type.

I have combination sensitive skin and the mask I made was a Banana/Olive oil/ Egg mask and it worked very well!~

Before you make this mask, make sure your skin is clean. If it isn't, the mask will sit on top of all the days ick and won't help much.

Here's what you'll need!

Half a Banana (Eat the other half it's good for you.)
2 Tea spoons of Olive Oil (I used Extra Virgin and it worked just fine, but you can also use Coconut oil if you have that on hand.)
and
1 Egg Yolk

Step One ~ Mash the Banana up with the Egg Yolk until combined thoroughly, then add the Olive oil.

Step Two ~ Apply to face. Hands or Brush, either is good.

Step Three ~ Relax with soothing music or your favorite show or a book/magazine for 15 - 20 minuets.

Step Four ~ Rinse off and lightly pat your face dry.

 And then you're done!

This is an easy quick mask that takes less than 5 minuets to put together, and it does feel odd at first, but in the end it's worth it. I like a smooth non chunky consistency, so I mashed the bananas until smooth, but if it's just a rough mash, that's ok as well.

The actual recipe calls for a Whole Banana, but this mask doesn't store well, so I shortened it to Half.

WARNING!!!

This recipe is NOT GOOD for those with severe skin conditions such as Eczema. According to feed back on Pinterest this recipe can cause intense redness and itching in rare cases.

I hope ya'll give this a try and let me know how it works out for you in the comments below or On my Facebook! (Kathleen Sweitzer)

Product Review : Lioele Waterdrop Sleeping Pack

Hello Lovelies~

Recently I received an order from my favorite Asian makeup site, Prettyandcute.com!

I am a constant stalker of their light pink digital princess perfection and my favorite section is the skin care. I really love their Facial Mask selection. My favorite is the White Rose from Beauty Diary I think. I also really like the Sakura Blossom one, but those are reviews for another time.

Lately, I've been browsing the moisturizers. Each time reading and rereading the properties and weighing the price and I usually find a reason to leave the site before I buy a thirty-three dollar something or other that may and or may not make my skin go crazy. (Having dry, combination sensitive skin is such a pain sometimes.)

So when I order my latest round of dye and saw a trail package of one of the products I had been debating on for free I didn't hesitate for a second to choose that rather than the BB Cream sunscreen I usually get.

It's one of my better impulse choices, let me tell you all about it ^_^

I have been looking at and lusting after the 'Waterdrop Sleeping Pack' from Lioele from a few months now. It promises to Brighten, Moisturize, Calm redness, and Reduce puffy-ness.

Honestly, it sounds to good to be true, but I'm willing to boldly blaze the trail others have blazed before me in pursuit of less red skin and the reviews on the site sing it's praises. Loudly.

The sample size is just enough for the full face and it's so cool when going on, it was like my skin was sighing and instantly relaxing. The product absorbed nicely and left no sticky or greasy residue, which I highly appreciate.

While it didn't take away the redness in my cheeks, in the morning my skin was soft and there was no morning swelling from pores begging to be cleaned. In fact, since the Waterdrop Sleeping Pack is a water base, my skin felt very light and refreshed.

A small bottle is $9.99 and it's on my list of things to keep in my life. Now that I've found it, I wouldn't want to go without it.

Hopefully I'll still feel this was after using it for a few months as it's rather hard to make solid statements after one trial.

Pros!

* Not Sticky or Greasy
* Light weight
* Cooling upon application

Cons!

* Didn't reduce the redness
* (More cons may arise with further use, please stay tuned)

Verdict = YES!

Below are the links for both the full size and the sample size Waterdrop Sleeping Packs. If you're unsure if it'll work for you, go with the sample size. 3 for $2.50 isn't a bad deal.

My Trip : Part 1 (Picture Heavy)

Hello Lovelies~

Last week I was lucky enough to go visit my BEST friend in the world. We've known one another since we were in Brownies together. Brownies are level of Girl Scouts for those who may not know. I spent a week in her wonderful company and now that I'm home, I miss her terribly.

But luckily I took about 500 pictures at least! So while going through my pictures, I get to remember all of the fun we had and share it with all of you!

There are so many pictures that it must be split up over quite a few posts ^^;...I think I may have a problem...or a passion. So I'm thinking of taking a photography course to figure out which option applies to me ^_^

Here I am on the plane heading to D.C. . I wore my Putumayo shirt, Cut off Jean Shorts, a Orange and White fabric headband, and black shoes. It was a very comfy outfit for flying, but still stylish. I never did get a full body shot of my outfit. 5 am is way to early to be taking pictures and I am landing in D.C. before I put on my makeup.

I was SO excited to get to ride a train for the first time in......I forget how many years. Even if it was only for a blip of a moment, I still had fun ^_^

Kelly met me right when I came out of the doors. It was great to see her after so long. Didn't she look adorable?

I loved her earrings! She got them at a craft show and the were different shapes.

I used to do this all the time, but I didn't buy them that way. It was usually because I lost one of the set, but sadly, I can no longer wear earrings.

So...what are two girls to do all on their own in a big city? Why...Shopping of course!

We went to two malls, the first of which had the best chocolate shop in the world!

o.o  Right?! A full shop filled with Godiva chocolate.

Kelly bought a bucket full of mix and match truffles. We got a selection of Green Apple, Strawberry, Caramel, Milk Chocolate, and Chocolate Lava.

The packaging was SO pretty! I asked the sales lady to cut the ribbon extra long so I could use it as a accessory. But sadly I forgot it in my friends' car. I hope I can get it back one day >.>....

We each got a free piece of chocolate for being members of Godiva's Chocolate Club. I got the Strawberry Banana Daiquiri truffle and Kelly got the Pistachio one. The were each so yummy! I wish we had a Godiva shop around here.

This is a picture of everything we bought and because we got so much, we got a free gift!

If you ever get a chance to try these, I recommend them, thick and creamy and .....Oh I wish I could've brought some home. But I don't think they would've traveled well.

As an extra treat, we got milkshakes!!!!!

Oh my lord.....so so so good! Mine is the triple chocolate one on the right and the white chocolate strawberry flavor belonged two Kelly.

After that, we went to another mall, twice the size of the last mall This was my first impression...

That's right my loves! Bloomingdales! They had so many amazing brands and I even got to go into a Louis Vuitton!  I wanted to get a pretty scarf to tie around my purse, but at $85, it was to much for me T^T

Oh well. One day I'll get one! A pretty pink one with the world map on it!

After that we went to get a snack. It was my first time at a conveyer belt sushi bar! I loved it!!! But it had the potential to get expensive, so we only had a light snack to keep us going.

It was pay by the plate color. Yellow was the cheapest at $2 and Red was the most expensive at $5.50.

After that we did a bit ( A LOT ) more shopping and then grocery shopping, and then we went home and spent the rest of the night on the couch playing Sims3, cooking, and generally catching up with one another.

 It was a wonderful day!

Stay tuned for Part 2!

Inspirational Photos : May

Hello Lovelies~

This week I am off work for personal reasons and I've found that every 20 minuets or so I'm in the kitchen trying to find something to eat. I've munched on everything from fruit to ice cream. I'm working it off at night, but I'm a stress eater and I deal with that in my own ways.

So this week's Inspirational Pictures are all cute food pictures I found on weheartit.com.

These pretzels look like bunnies from behind! I just thought they were so so cute ^_^

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be pudding....or a marshmallow....but whatever it is, I'd eat it!

I May be a stress eater, but I always remember what the picture below says......

Relaxation and a 'Get Well Soon' treat

Hello Lovelies~

I made it safely home from my trip! I had a wonderful time and reconnecting with my family was a pleasure. ^_^ I had such a good time I was rarely on to check my mail or anything of the like, so I didn't realize my scheduled posts hadn't posted! o.o sad indeed!

So this week will be full of those posts, but today I must admit that I am very under the weather. My throat hurts and I am curled up in my comfiest pajamas watching comfort movies. I thought I'd share a list of my favorite movies that always make me feel better when I'm sick, One or two very Lolita like, Others not, and a simple snack that sooths the throat.

First, the movies!

Somewhere in time is one of my all time favorites. It's slow and simple and one of the most heart wrenching love stories you will ever encounter. I cry every time I watch this film.

Best Robin Hood Ever! Kevin Costner, Christian Slater, Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman.... Good writing, good music, good acting, All around great movie!

Who doesn't love a great buddy cop movie?  And When the buddy cops are Mel Gibson and Danny Glover? Forget about it. I love all four movies really, but the first is the best.

'Come out to the cost...We'll get together, have a few laughs...' . What a classic line. Guaranteed to brighten my mood, even when I have the sniffles and the beginning of a nasty cold.

Thought all I watched was action movies, huh?  Cinderella is one of my favorite movies and when I pull this movie out, I am usually settling in for a long day of Disney. Tangled, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast.....but it all starts with this amazing story of dreams coming true.

Now... Back to the action, so to speak.

R.E.D. and action movie with the heart of a romance. I really love this movie. I mean....Helen Mirren with an Uzi. Is there anything better?

Last one on my list of feel better flicks is Iron Man. Others came after it, and they were ok, but this movie set the Bar. This is what movie makers aim for now. This instant classic that is now influencing men's fashion and science as we know it!

When I am sick I love a good action flick! ...>.> .... I love a good action flick anytime really, but these are my go to!

And now, the healthy snack for a sore throat!

1 good sized lemon.
Honey
1 good sized jar

This is pretty simple....

Thinly slice your lemon, then put a layer of slices on the bottom of the jar, then poor on a good squeeze of the honey. Layer of lemons, squeeze of honey, until you have no more. Then seal the jar, put the jar in the fridge, and let it be for two days.

After that, either serve hot in tea or cold, as a lemonade of sorts.

These honey soaked lemons will keep for about two weeks, three if kept very cold.

I hope all of you stay warm and keep yourselves healthy with your own comfort movies!
