Brand Spotlight ~ Alice and the Pirates

Hello Lovelies~

As of yesterday, it is officially Spring!

I love this time of year. Watching the world come back to life after a long winter is always inspiring, even if I do hate the mud and what it does to my shoes, I love a good rain shower and the sound of it tap tap taping against a window as I read Poe and dream of freshly picked strawberries...

Today I thought I'd share with you my favorite collection of the season. Having looked through all of the upcoming reserves and found most to be nice and pretty, but typical, I was sad to find no one really venturing forth and capturing my attention, until Alice and the Pirates came out with a print that swept me away and has me all a flutter for a new year of fashion.

I present to you 'Last Note ~ Faint Spring Song' from Alice and the Pirates.

                                                                       Ivory

                                                                        Navy

                                                                        Pink

                                                                  Sax Blue
(My favorite of the colors offered)

My favorite part of these colors is that even though they are 'Spring', they aren't the pastel explosion I'm used to seeing this time of year. That may be due to the recent up swing of the Classic influence that cools the color pallet, but I've always loves the Classic Sweet style, so I'm just fine with that. ^_^

This print has a beautiful mix of floral bouquets, chains, perfume bottles, clocks, lace doilies, and pearls. All set on a pin prick polka dot back ground. It's kind of like the designers looked around and asked, 'How much can we put in here before it's "To Much"?'. But I think it came together nicely, so yay for them.

The designers at AatP really did a good job with the Dresses, keeping them straight forward and elegant, allowing the wearer and the viewer to focus on the beauty of the print.

The Under bust dress (Above) and the Lace printed cut sew (Below), Make a lovely match. There is also a skirt with the collection, but I don't think it pairs well with this shirt.

I love this OP. From the tiny cap sleeves to the ribbon under the bust, this dress screams 'Regency Inspired' to me. It's a clean silhouette and reminds me of Victorian Maiden's designs from 2008.

The only downside with the design is that even way back when, it wasn't designed with well endowed ladies in mind.

The skirt below is bet is lovely in person, or actually being worn, but this picture does it no justice. It's an odd shape, not quite a cupcake...not quite an A-line. The ribbon on top is cute, but the small scalloped lace along the bottom is...bland in my opinion.

It's almost like this piece was an after thought. A...because it's required piece. It shows no love or imagination like the ones above.

On to the Accessories! Starting with Hair Accessories.

Seems that with the raise of Classic Lolita, no collection is complete with out a Half Bonnet. The bonnet below has detachable roses on the front that can either be used as an independent hair accessory or a broach.

Like two accessories for the price of one.

While I wouldn't wear the bow below as a side bow, I would wear it in the back with a half up half down look.

This is my FAVORITE part of the whole collection. I love it to pieces and really want to add it to my wardrobe.

I really love how it's on a head band rather than ribbons and a hair comb.

Easy simple bobby pin. ...Not much else to say. But it is cute.

Next, Jewelry!

This is the second time Baby/Alice has done a pearl and lace woven necklace. I'll be honest, for the $50 they want for this necklace, I could make 10 of them just like it. But it's beautiful. And does complete the collection.

If I were to get a necklace, I'd go with the one below. I love perfume bottles. I have a mini collection of them and am always on the look out for pretty antique or antique looking bottles like this one.

If you look close, the ribbon design on the bottle is either an pastel colored enamel or....something else. But I want to say it's enamel. I really like that extra splash of color.

Last, but not least, the socks.

For me, It's like to see the worn before I make my call. They are nice. But the print is very big and there are no chains or pearls, just the clock doilies and the flower bouquets. It may all tie in very nicely, but I'm reserving judgment.

Though if not worn with the rest of the print, but on their own to enhance another outfit, I say yes. I do like them.

In fact, I'm almost sad these weren't made into tights.

So there you have it! Alice and the Pirates 'Last Note ~ Faint Spring Song' collection. My favorite print this season.

What do you think? Are there any pieces you'd like to have in your wardrobe? Which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below, or on facebook! (I'm more likely to comment back on facebook.)

 Thanks for reading!

Metamorphose Spotlight!

Hello Lovelies~

It's time again for another Brand Spotlight!... but I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It's close to a WTHell Brand~ moment for me....

So here it is.....May I introduce Metamorphoses' newest print....'Typewriting Squirrles'.

Offered in four colors....

 White

Sax Blue

Lavender

And Pink!

Two dress styles have been released so far, A cute casual JSK with a scallop style skirt, and a Fully Shirred OP.

Along with the dresses, this series will also have a Skirt...

A set of Socks...

A Headbow...

and a pair of Side Bows, if I'm guessing right...

I can't say I'm thrilled for this Print. It's cute, yes. But on the other hand, this print make me pause as much as IW's 'Elegant Chair' print did. Though IW is still winning that WTHell Brand race for that one, even all this time later.

....>.>......

I still really want that Chair print from IW!

Lol! So that is the latest Brand Spotlight! What are your thoughts on the series?

Valentines....8 days and counting!

Hello Lovelies~

It's that time of year again. A time when Red, Pink, and White take over our lives and the price of roses sky rockets! Reservations are made, gifts are purchased, and let's be honest, someone will be in the dog house because they forgot how important the 14th of February is to some people.

While I will still be showing off my makeup as I organize it and telling you about books as I read them, for the next week or so, I will be posting about things to wear, treats to get your loved ones, where to go for a nice night one on a budget, and what to get as apology gifts if you forgot....or what to hint that your partner should get you ^_~

So let's start out with what to wear on the big night!

There are plenty of cute prints out to celebrate the fast approaching holiday, BTSSB has released ' Bon-Bon Chocolate DanceDanceDance', which is a cute multi striped, all over print.

Bon Bon Chocolate DanceDanceDance

I would love to post a few pictures from this collection, but Baby has coded their pictures to make sure they are not stolen. I can understand why they should do this. So please visit the link above to see the print yourself.

Metamorphose's Crown Label has offered us a cute border print called 'Cotton Candy'

Cotton Candy

I think it's a very cute print, no doubt, I mean...everything made of cotton candy? So cute!!! ....but the bunny scares me... >.>... This print is offered in Pink, Light Blue, and Navy. I think it looks best in Navy, but that's just me.

Innocent World is offering a really cute print called 'Berangere Rose', Of all of the offerings this year, this print has stolen my heart!

Offered in three colors, Yellow, Pink, and Blue, I would wear this dress for a night out of Valentines if I have the chance. It's beautiful enough toe translate for every season, you can pair it with either bows or roses in the hair, and it is offered in two lengths! how awesome is that?

Pink...Red...and White....whoever though this color scheme up when creating this holiday did not take into account that not everyone looks good in these colors! I know I don't. White makes me looks awkwardly yellow, Red brings out the red in my skin, no matter how much makeup I put on, and Pink....well....while it's a cute color and I like it a lot, I prefer light blue or black...or even a nice mint color.

Want to know what I'll be wearing this Valentines? Black.

I think a nice black dress with white pearls strung through my hair and bright pink lips will be fun ^_^ Don't know if I'm doing anything this year, no one has asked me to do anything yet, but I sure know what I'll be wearing!! ^_^

What will you be wearing my lovelies? Anyone wearing homemade outfits? I'd love to see them! In fact....I'll post any photos of homemade valentines outfits that are e-mailed to me between now and February 14th!

My e-mail is Shinitori@msn.com, I look forward to an e-mail or two ^_^

Metamorphose Spotlight!

Hello Lovelies~

Another Spring season has almost arrived and it's time again for another Metamorphose Spotlight. This year, Meta has presented us with a beautiful collection that is....more than stunning. Usually, I'm not one for Boarder prints, but the 'Brilliant Princess' series is on the level with the 'Swan Lake' print!

This print comes in three colors....

                                                                  Cream

                                                                      Pink

                                                                   And Navy

First up is my favorite dress of the whole collection. The 'Brilliant Princess Flared Sleeve Dress' Is offered in all three colors and is made with 100% cotton fabric, chiffon trim, satin ribbon, and lace.

Front...

And Back....

Pearl accents down the bodice...

And lace wedges down the sleeves make this dress decedent and fit for a princess!

And here it is in Navy...

The 'Brilliant Princess Flared Sleeve Dress' is great for those of us with Hime Lolita leanings. The cream color is gorgeous and luxurious, fit for tiaras and triple strands of pearls. I have not seen the pink or navy versions of this dress, but so far, I am loving the cream version the most.

Next up is the 'Brilliant Princess Frill Pinafore Dress'

Front....

Back....

And a close up of the satin ribbon lacing up the bodice...

I think my favorite part of this dress is the straps crossed across the back and the double layer of chiffon along the bottom of the dress. It makes for a cute summer dress and a great fall or winter dress when paired with a good blouse and a cute pair of tights.

The next dress has just been made into a prototype, from the drawings, it looks adorable.

So let's see it all done!

It looks a little rushed, but it is very beautiful.

Other than dresses, there will be two skirts. One high waisted....

Personally, I think this skirt looks frumpy and to long, but it is just a prototype so I'm hoping the final product looks much better.

And for the second the skirt, it is a fully shirred, it is said to fit up to a 35.5" waist.

As far as accessories go, there are three additions to these pieces that are very cute.

We have a set of socks, a Half Bonnet, and a double sided bow.

So, in conclusion, I really like this collection and I hope it is a BIG hit.
